(PSA: I'm in a feisty mood. And I'm positive that came out in my writing. You've been warned.)
Every girl has a best friend. But every girl also has a girl squad.

And right now. I'm missing my girl squad. We're talking separation anxiety, FOMO, wish-we-were-having-Galentine's Day kind of missing.
Oh, you haven't heard of Galentine's Day?
Ok. Traditionally, Galentine's Day takes place the day before Valentine's Day. Because why not. Just keep that love going. So much love. Love everywhere.
The concept apparently was first coined in an episode of Parks and Recreation. Never seen it. But so I've heard. So. Here's this. Festive is to Seinfeld, as Chrismukkah is to The OC...as Galentine's Day is to Parks and Recreation!

And obviously any fictional TV holiday should be celebrated. Our female friendships DESERVE to be celebrated, damn it!
Ok so here's how to do it.
Ok so here's how to do it.
Step 1: Send pretty little invites.
No group text. Even though that's your main form of communication with each other anyway. Let's make it official.
You can download and print out these cute and girly invites for free here.

Step 2: Decorate.
Everything. Streamers, balloons, flowers, candles.
Everything. Streamers, balloons, flowers, candles.
You'll need a table, probably. We love this DIY tablecloth. The black and white place settings with the bright flowers is just so pretty, and totally not cliche.
And make a DIY statement piece. Because what's a party without a good DIY project? So here are a few ideas you could choose from.
Create a Photo Booth.
Because if it's not posted on Instagram, it didn't happen. We love the weighted balloons as a backdrop for pictures!

Step 3: Food and Drink.
But like, mostly drink. Get drunk and tell stories about your first kiss. And how it sucked.
Also. We don't know what these are, but you should definitely make them. One of the recipes says "a virgin version is also available", but you know. That's not necessary.
The recipe for the Pink Champagne Floats can be found here. And the recipe for the Red Velvet Milkshakes can be found here.

Step 4: Treat yo self.
No boys allowed. So you know, paint your nails a girly pink. With glitter. Watch How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Twice. Make your own flower crowns.
No really, make your own flower crowns.

Grab your girls and have fun!
I'll just be sitting here wishing mine didn't live thousands of miles away.
And my Valentine's Day will most likely look more like this.
Happy Galantine's Day dolls!
xoxo,
Marissa
